As Oklahoma’s largest and oldest nursing program, the OU College of Nursing has helped shape the professional education of thousands of nurses, who like you, want to make a difference in Oklahoma and beyond its borders. Among our more than 10,500 alumni are award-wining researchers, educators, nurse leaders, administrators and clinicians all of whom are advancing health care. In addition, our 84 highly-qualified faculty members are furthering healthcare throughout the nation with their work both in and outside the classroom.
Nursing has changed since our founding in 1911, and at the OU College of Nursing, we’re proud to be at the forefront of that change. From clinical practice in community clinics to special student leadership opportunities, we are committed to not only educating future nurses, but also engaging, challenging and shaping nursing leaders of tomorrow. In addition to classroom study, the OU College of Nursing offers hands-on clinical experience at a wide range of teaching hospitals and clinics, unique research and leadership opportunities, as well as distance learning for some programs. In addition, our students and faculty make a difference every day in improving the health of patients, families and our community.
As you review our website, I encourage you to learn more not just about the programs we offer, but also our work in the community, our goals and visions, and our history. As you will learn, we are proud of the wonderful students, alumni, faculty and staff that compose the OU College of Nursing and look forward to helping you join in our outstanding tradition.
