Direct Early Admissions for OU Honors Students
The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center College of Nursing, in partnership with the University of Oklahoma Honors College, is proud to offer direct admission to OU Honors students.
How it Works:
- Apply to and be admitted to the University of Oklahoma Norman campus AND the Honors College.
- Complete Freshman and Sophomore years at the Norman campus, taking specific prerequisite courses (while maintaining admission eligibility to the College of Nursing).
- Complete the following Honors College courses:
- HON 2973, Perspectives on the American Experience
- HON 3993, Honors Colloquium
- Nine additional credit hours of Honors courses
- Apply to the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center with guaranteed selection by the College of Nursing and complete Junior and Senior years of nursing curriculum.
- Graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and take the state licensure examination to receive your RN license.

- Nurse Mentor. OU Nursing faculty member, Darlene Barnard York, MS, RN
- Honors Reading & Research. Complete at the OU College of Nursing by taking NURS 4062, Nursing Research, and NURS 4134, The Practice of Leadership.
