Current Students - Background Checks

Clinical Background Check for OU Medical Center

All students assigned to clinical rotation at any OU Medical Center facility must have this background check completed. Only one background check process must be completed while you are a student at the College of Nursing. You will not have to repeat this process next semester.

If you are currently employed at OUMC you may not have to receive a second background check.  Contact the Human Resources office to confirm this:  (405) 271-6035.

This IS different than the OSBI Background Check.

This must be completed immediately or you WILL NOT be allowed to attend clinical orientation and you WILL NOT be allowed in the clinical setting.

Processing Time:  Approximately 1 week.

OSBI Criminal History Information Request

Students using clinical facilities on the University of Oklahoma College of Nursing campus for clinical experiences (other than the OU Medical Center) require an Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) background check, including a check of the Sex Offenders list.  Students at most campuses will need to complete this process.
