Welcome!

My name is Rosalyn Alexander and I am the Traditional BSN Program Coordinator in the Office of Student Affairs. I'll help you with preparing for nursing school. Dates to Remember

June 30, 2012	Final Day to submit PMTC Application for Nursing Assistance
July 1, 2012	Final date to submit: Immunizations Background Checks Drug Screen Insurance Cards Forms for these items can be found below Final date to submit Uniform, Name Tag, and Stethoscope Orders.
July 1, 2012	Fall 2012 Scholarship Deadline
August 2, 2012	Attend mandatory new student Orientation 9:00 am - 2:00 pm OUHSC College of Nursing, Oklahoma City, Room 138
August 20, 2012	First day of class

 

Things you need to do now:

• Be sure to accept your offer of admission and submit your enrollment deposit at: www.ouhsc.edu/enrollmentdeposit
• Clinical 101: Preparing yourself for clinical rotations
  DUE BY JULY 1, 2012 (NO EXCEPTIONS)

  Note: copies of immunizations & CPR card must be submitted.
  Original records will not be copied or returned to the student. Keep a copy for your records.

2. Drug Screen Form (refer to Drug Screen Policy) Must be renewed annually
   Note: Must only use CRG Labs
3. Insurance
4. Health Form (refer to Health Form Instructions) TB & CPR must be renewed annually
   • Hep B Waiver
     Only complete if you do not have proof of 3 HepB vaccinations or 1 Positive HebB titer.
   • Childhood Tetanus Waiver
     Only complete if you do not have proof of your childhood DPTs.

5. Complete Uniform & Supply orders (you will pick these up at Orientation)
   Due July 1, 2012
• Make sure your computer meets College requirements
• IT Orientation
• Dell Purchase Site
• Confirm your new HSC Email Account
• Complete FAFSA and apply for scholarships
• Review section below for items that must be brought to Orientation.
• Review campus maps to find your way around campus.

 

Things to do at Orientation in August

1. Print, complete and bring following forms with you to Orientation.
   • Nursing Release Forms
   • HSC Risk Policy
2. Print, complete and bring your Enrollment Form (Fall 2012 pending, check often)
3. Register for ONSA, see your campus chapter booth at orientation
4. Order OUHSC Student ID Card ($10, pictures taken at orientation, see Expected Expenses)
5. Textbooks (check in June for updates)
6. Sign up for clinical rotation
7. Meet your senior buddy

 

Things to do after orientation but before classes start

1. Submit any remaining official transcripts to Rosalyn Alexander.
   You will not be enrolled and financial aid will not be disbursed until final transcripts are received.
2. Complete HIPAA Training online.
   Email or fax a copy of your completion certificate to Davetta Brown. Fax: (405) 271-7341.
   (You must have your OUHSC email account to complete HIPAA training).
   Note: Please keep a copy for your records. Submitted records cannot be copied.
3. Order your Parking Pass (needed first day of school)
4. Review the following:
   • Bird Library
   • Campus Preview
   • Academic Calendar
   • OUHSC Campus Checklist
   • Class Schedule (check routinely for updates)
   • Dress Code
   • Enrollment
   • FERPA
   • Student Code of Honor (read online)
   • Student Handbook (read online)
