Graduation - Masters Programs

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation! You have worked very hard over the past few years and deserve to celebrate your accomplishment. We encourage you to participate in every event you have coming to you!

Fall 12, Spring 13 and Summer 13 graduating students are invited to attend the May 2013 ceremonies.

Comprehensive Examination

Each non-thesis MS student is required to successfully complete a comprehensive exam in their last semester of course work. Nurse Practitioner students will have four hours to write their exam on day that is to be determined by the NP program. NP students must write their exam on the Oklahoma City or Tulsa campus. All other non-thesis MS students will receive their exam via HSC e-mail and must be returned by the deadline given. Students normally have 5-7 days to return their written response. All students who write a comprehensive exam must defend their written response with a committee of three College of Nursing faculty members. Committee's members, dates and times for students defense is scheduled through the office of Student Affairs and Academic Programs. Each eligible student will receive the date, time and a list of their faculty committee via HSC e-mail once the schedule is finalized each semester. Complete your Application for Graduation form by March 1, 2013 (Spring 13 graduates) and July 1, 2013 (Summer 13 graduates). Form can be found by logging into your self service.
Order your graduation supplies (see below)
RSVP for events (forms below)
Clear all holds with Bursar Office and/or Financial Aid

Please note: Your Graduate Outline and Admission to Candidacy Form will be completed by the Office of Student Affairs, then submitted to the Graduate College.

Graduation Gear-Up

Graduation Gear-Up is an one-stop shop for all of your OU Graduation needs. Not only will you receive information about the time, location, and rain plan for commencement and graduation you may purchase your graduation robe, announcements, and more!

OU-HSC Campus:

10 a.m. to 6 p.m., March 12 and 13

OU-Tulsa Campus:

Announcements. Announcements can be ordered through Jostens.
Cap & Gown. If you are attending the Convocation or Commencement ceremonies, you will need to purchase a gown, cap, black nursing tassel, and gold MS hood. You can purchase these items through the University Bookstore by calling (405) 325-3511.
Students inducted into Sigma Theta Tau or other honors societies are eligible to wear their honors cords with their regalia. Sigma cords may be purchased online.
