  • Family Nurse Practitioner Pathway Courses
    • N5833 - Foundations of Family Theory and Primary Health Care

    A lecture/discussion course focusing on issues, concepts, models, and theories related to family assessment, interventions, and primary health care. The role of advanced practice nurses will be examined related to the assessment, diagnosis, and management of selected problems. (3 credit hours)

    • N5843 - Primary Health Care for Children in the Family

      A didactic course examining the concepts focusing on the assessment, diagnosis (nursing and selected medical), management, and evaluation of primary health care for children with their families. (3 credit hours)

    • N5853 - Primary Health Care for Children Practicum

      A clinical/practicum course focusing on health maintenance and common problems of the infant, child, and adolescent. Assessment, diagnosis (nursing and medical), management, and evaluation of care are emphasized. (3 credit hours)

    • N5863 - Primary Health Care for Women in the Family

      A didactic course focusing on the assessment diagnosis (nursing and selected medical), management, and evaluation of the gynecologic, obstetric, and perimenopausal primary health care needs of women and their families. (3 credit hours)

    • N5873 - Primary Health Care for Women Practicum

      A clinical preceptorship focusing on the assessment, diagnosis (nursing and selected medical), management, and evaluation of the gynecologic, obstetric, and perimenopausal primary health care needs of women and their families. (3 credit hours)

    • N5883 - Primary Health Care for Adults in the Family

      A didactic course focusing on the assessment, diagnosis (nursing and selected medical), management, and evaluation of the adult client and their family. The primary focus will include promotion and prevention, as well as management of selected illnesses, injuries and chronic diseases. (3 credit hours)

    • N5893 - Primary Health Care for Adults Practicum

      A clinical practicum focusing on the assessment, diagnosis (nursing and selected medical management), and evaluation of the adult client, with specific focus on promotion and prevention, as well as selected illnesses, injuries, and chronic diseases. (3 credit hours)

    • N5880 - Primary Health Care for the Family

      A didactic/clinical preceptorship focusing on attainment of the nurse practitioner role, reflecting independent and collaborative practice to promote expertise in assessment, diagnosis (nursing and selected medical), management, and evaluation of primary health care for clients across the lifespan. The role will address socialization, logistics of practice, and ongoing responsibilities. (5 credit hours)

    • N5803 - Nurse Practitioner Roles and Practice Management

      A capstone seminar role course focusing on demonstrating competence in two domains: the professional role of an advanced practice nurse and management of the Nurse Practitioner's practice. (3 credit hours)
