Basic PDA Functions

Using the Find Application

printerPrint this Tutorial

1.      Open the program that contains the information you want to find (e.g. Datebook).

2.      Tap the Find icon (magnifying glass on lower right of your PDA).

3.      In the “Find” window, enter (via graffiti, onscreen keyboard, or attached keyboard) the text you want to find.

a.       If you used “Find” before, the last text you selected will be highlighted in yellow in the “Find” window. When you enter new text, the new text will replace the last.

b.      “Find” is not case-sensitive. For example, searching for “lunch” and “Lunch” will produce the same results.

a.       “Find” locates any words that begin with the text you enter. For example, searching for “med” finds “medicine” and “medical”, but not “paramedical”.

4.      The “Find” window will display matches for the text you entered.

5.      When you see a desired match, tap on it to view details.

6.      If a large number of matches were found, more matches can be viewed by tapping the “Find More” window.

7.      When you have seen all the matches for your current program, “Find” will search other programs on your PDA (such as DocAlert, SheetToGo, and DocumentsToGo).
