Official Transcripts & Credentialing

During completion of your Mandatory Graduation Clearance Survey, you will note the state in which you plan to be licensed.  The Office of Student Affairs will provide this information to Admissions and Records so an official transcript may be sent on your behalf.  ALL holds must be cleared before Admissions and Records will send your official transcript.  It is recommended that all holds be taken care of by April 15, 2019.

Student Affairs will only request transcripts be sent to State Boards of Nursing.  We will not send transcripts to any other institution or employer.  Should you need other transcripts, please visit https://admissions.ouhsc.edu/Current-Students/Records/Transcript-Request.

If you plan to hold an out of state license, please check your state’s Board of Nursing website for any specific forms or documents that may need to be completed by either the College of Nursing or Admissions and Records.  Please send any forms to Dianne Estes (Tulsa) or Jessica Thompson (OKC/Tulsa).  They can also be dropped off in Room 105.  We need ALL out of state forms by May 1, 2019.  ALL holds will need to be taken care of in order for documents to be processed and transcripts to be sent. It is recommended that all holds be taken care of by April 15, 2019.

**Many states require a completed affidavit or other paperwork that must be signed by the College of Nursing Dean.  The Dean will not sign any affidavit until after graduation and degrees are posted.  These affidavits must also be stamped with the University’s Seal.  This process will not be completed until after graduation and degrees are posted in late May.

The Office of Student Affairs would like to address the importance of having all holds cleared as soon as possible.  The Office of Admissions and Records requires us to complete a certified graduation list.  This list is the official list of students who have completed all requirements to graduate. If you have a hold on your account, you will not be able to request, send, receive a transcript, or receive your diploma until your hold is cleared. We cannot stress enough the importance of clearing your holds. One hold will prevent you from having a degree posted. If degrees are not posted, your transcripts can not be sent to any Board of Nursing delaying your ability to register for NCLEX.

Wearing the Academic Distinction Hood

Academic Distinction Quick Reference

BSN graduates are eligible to graduate with Academic Distinction and wear the gold hood over the regalia if both of the following criteria are met:

  • 3.50 or higher GPA in OUHSC Nursing coursework, and
  • 3.50 or higher Overall Cumulative GPA (inclusive of all coursework on the academic record)

Students with a 3.75 or higher GPA in both areas noted above are eligible to graduate with Academic Special Distinction.  The same gold hood is worn for either level of distinction.

The photographer will provide the hood during the photography session.  The photographer will not have a list of eligible students.  Students may check with their CON Student Affairs office to confirm eligibility.  Hoods can be purchased for use at graduation through the OU Norman campus bookstore.

MSN and DNP graduates may qualify for Academic Distinction if their OUHSC program coursework is completed with a 3.75 GPA or higher.  The gold hood is not worn by MSN and DNP graduates.  Instead, MSN and DNP graduates will wear their respective degree hoods.

Celebratory Event Pictures

Event pictures will also be available after each awards ceremony or graduation activity.  Event pictures can be ordered through Oklahoma Party Pics.
