Objectives:
1. Review translational highlights of NIA clinical research: From basic research
findings on aging processes, to clinical studies to enhance quality of life, to
population studies reflecting aging transitions.
2. Examine Alzheimer’s and related disease research priorities and NIA’s lead
role in funding this research.
3. Highlight changes in funding initiatives including NIH clinical trials policy,
inclusion and recruitment policy; focus on team approach, and identification of
rigor, relevance, and impact in improving today’s science.
