ABSN Student Educate Pre-k Students

ABSN Student Educate Pre-k Students

“We loved getting to interact with the pre-K students and teaching them about the important aspects of health. Getting away from studying, applying information in a fun way, and working in the Duncan community had a lot of value,” said Marleigh Feigenbaum, nursing student from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing.  ABSN students participated in a Community Health Teach Project with Will Rogers Pre-K center in Duncan, Oklahoma.  The students taught four year olds about healthy food choices, the importance of sleep, good handwashing, and the importance exercise.

Nursing student Darryl Ogle thought the activity was really fun and educational. “It was a  positive experience and feel that the activity reflected OU College of Nursing's commitment to the community,” said Ogle.  “I hope the children learned something and I enjoyed being able to educate them on the importance of proper nutrition while having fun doing it.”
