Gathering for Alumna and Former Nursing Assistant Dean Martha Primeaux

Gathering for Alumna and Former Nursing Assistant Dean Martha Primeaux

Faculty alumni and colleagues of Martha Primeaux, former OU CON assistant dean and pediatric faculty member of the College for 28 years, gathered at the College to see her receive a “replacement” certificate for the one she should have received when she graduated from the College in 1963. Martha was the recipient of The Lottinville Award for the Outstanding BSN Graduate in her graduation year, and while she received an engraved silver tray with matching coffee and tea set, the accompanying framed certificate was printed with the wrong name.  At the gathering, Dr. Barbara Holtzclaw presented her with a corrected replacement certificate.  Martha pursued a MS in Nursing from the University of Colorado, worked in neonatal and pediatric care, and came back a few years later to teach and become a faculty administrator at OU CON. She retired in 2000 but has been an active volunteer in hospice care and home health settings. In addition, she served on the Advisory Board for the OU CON’s Bridges to the Doctorate Program for Native American MS students from 2003-2007.

Thank you Martha for all your contributions to the College and the community.
