The Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing at the University of Oklahoma proudly announces Dr. Patricia Geddie and Dr. Christi Dining Zuber as recipients of the College’s Distinguished Alumni Award.

The honorees will be formally recognized later this month during the College’s annual Women’s History Month celebration. The event will feature a special award presentation and reception, as well as a continuing education (CE) opportunity with Drs. Geddie and Zuber serving as keynote speakers.

Patricia I. Geddie, PhD, APRN, AOCNS, FCNS

Dr. Geddie serves as a Nurse Scientist at Moffitt Cancer Center, where she mentors and advises direct care nurses in conducting research within clinical practice settings—from concept development through dissemination.

Her distinguished nursing career spans more than 40 years, dedicated exclusively to adult oncology and hematology. Dr. Geddie earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (1982) from Florida State University, her Master of Science in Nursing (1991) from the University of Oklahoma, and her Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing (2015) from University of Central Florida.

Her research focuses on improving outcomes for older adults with cancer, advancing treatment-related symptom self-care management, and enhancing intravenous catheter care and management practices.

Christi Dining Zuber, PhD, MHA, RN, FAAN

Dr. Zuber is a Senior Nurse Consultant in the Center for Education, Research and Professional Development at Stanford Health Care and an Associate Professor at the Stanford University School of Medicine.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Health Administration from the University of Oklahoma and her Ph.D. from Coventry University.

Dr. Zuber’s work centers on the intersection of community and workforce co-design, health equity, and capacity building. She began this innovative work at Kaiser Permanente, where she co-founded the first human-centered innovation practice in healthcare and led the initiative across its 210,000 employees for nearly two decades.

The College proudly congratulates Drs. Geddie and Zuber on this well-deserved recognition and celebrates their lasting contributions to nursing, research, innovation, and health equity.
