Emily Jones, PhD, RNC-OB, is Professor, Cyndy Ellis-Purgason Endowed Chair, Chair of the Department of Child and Family Health Sciences, and Nursing PhD program director for the Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing at the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Jones’ program of research centers largely on the cardiometabolic health of Indigenous women. Most recently, Dr. Jones was instrumental in securing a seven-year, $10.5 million U54 cooperative agreement from the National Institutes of Health. The work of the grant creates CIRCLE – the Center for Indigenous Resilience, Culture, and maternaL health Equity – to serve Oklahoma and the Southern Plains. She serves as a Research Project Lead of the center’s research project, Food for LifecOURse equity in maternal Security and Health (FLOURISH) and Co-Investigator of the Community Partnerships component. Dr. Jones’ impactful contributions as an academic nurse leader, teacher, and mentor empower the next generation of nurse scientists, educators, and change agents.
