Dr. Jennifer Heck, PhD, RNC-NIC, CNE, PMH-C is an associate professor in the Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing at The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences. Dr. Heck has been an academician since 2006 and her program of research broadly concerns Indigenous maternal health. Specifically, she investigates the perinatal mental health of Indigenous women and explores how it relates to maternal mortality. In 2020, Dr. Heck was selected as one of two fellows for the inaugural editorial fellowship of MCN, The American Journal of Maternal-Child Nursing. More recently, she was selected as a post-doctoral fellow for the inaugural cohort of the Indigenous Nursing Research Enhancement (INRE) Fellowship at the University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing.
