Kimberly A. Allen, DNP, APRN‑CNP is the Director of Clinical Affairs, Outreach, and Practice Innovation and an Assistant Professor at the University of Oklahoma Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing, where she also serves as Family Nurse Practitioner Track Coordinator. Board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, Dr. Allen has more than 25 years of clinical experience in family practice. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and her Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Her scholarly interests include healthcare access, interprofessional education, artificial intelligence in nursing, and quality improvement in primary care. Dr. Allen is a co‑investigator on the HRSA‑funded OK‑WINs initiative and remains active in clinical practice and community outreach.

Clinical/Research Interests:

Dr. Allen’s scholarly interests focus on improving healthcare access, advancing interprofessional education, and integrating innovative strategies such as artificial intelligence and simulation into advanced practice nursing education. She mentors DNP students on quality improvement projects related to telehealth, social determinants of health, and chronic disease management in underserved populations, with clinical expertise spanning the lifespan.
