College of Nursing Celebrates Student Excellence at Annual Awards Ceremony

Students from the University of Oklahoma Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing were recently honored for their outstanding achievements during the annual 4-Point Ceremony and the Health Campus Student Awards.

At the 4-Point Ceremony, the following students were presented with gold medallions in recognition of their accomplishments and dedication to nursing:

Sarah Boedecker, Jacqueline Breese, Kalli Cannon, Lauren Cottam, Lily Coyer, Rechelle Criger, Sydney Davidson, Emma Dustin, Rosalva Grover, Samantha Hemenway, Andrea Johnson, Kylie Kirtlan, Kallie Knight, Mariesa McNeill, Amanda Miller, Jennifer Molinsky, Leah North, Marcie Roberson, Kelsey Sanders, Summer Seidel, Lindsay Shock, Amy Smith, Sarah Stanley, Valarie Stewart, Jenny Truong, Melanie Tyson, Genevieve Walz, and Jenavieve Young.

Later that day, several College of Nursing students were recognized at the Health Campus Student Awards for their academic excellence, leadership, and service. The following students were honored as Top Scholars within their respective programs:

Top Scholars – Undergraduate Programs

  • LPN-BSN: Simin Guan
  • RN-BSN: Kaleb Pontius
  • Traditional BSN (TBSN): Lauren Cottam, Lily Coyer, Emma Dustin

Top Scholars – Graduate Programs

  • Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP): Sarah Boedecker, Lauren McCorkle
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN): Jaqueline Breese, Jennifer Molinsky
  • Certificate Programs: Joshua Norman, Sandra Mellor

Special Awards and Honors

Several students received distinguished awards recognizing leadership, service, and specialized contributions:

  • Outstanding Nursing Student Group Leader Award: Emma Linkous
  • Robert M. Bird Society Award: Alice Sohn
  • Khader K. Hussein Award in Palliative Care: Ann-Marie Weitzel
  • Parents Association Outstanding Student Award: Addison Rosiere
  • Outstanding Senior Leadership Award: Jonathan Whitford
