On September 25th at the NLN Summit in Philadelphia, OUCN was awarded the prestigious re-designation as a Center of Excellence for 2009-2012 in the category of Creating Environments that Enhance Student Learning and Professional Development. The Center of Excellence program recognizes nursing schools that demonstrate sustained excellence in faculty development, nursing education research, or student learning and professional development. Schools must also have a proven commitment to continuous quality improvement. OUCN is only one of 15 Centers of Excellence in the nation. The award was accepted on behalf of the college by Dr. Beverly Bowers, Sheryl Buckner, Jan Emory and Pati Pryor-Huffman.
