The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center Fran and Earl Ziegler was well represented in the publication of a recent article in Oncology Nursing Forum. Two alumni, along with a current faculty member, authored “Outcomes of Cancer Survivorship Care Provided by Advanced Practice RNs Compared to Other Models of Care: A Systematic Review”. The article conducts a broad analysis of the role of APRNs in cancer survivorship care.
Julie A. Spears, APRN-CNS, DNP, AOCNS, is a 2010 graduate of the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program as an Acute Care Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS). She earned a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) at OU in 2016. She is currently employed at Oklahoma Cancer Specialists and Research Institute, in Tulsa. Melissa Craft, PhD, APRN-CNS, AOCN, is an assistant professor at the College of Nursing and serves as director of the CNS program and interim director of the PhD program. Sara White, APRN-CNS, MSN, OCN, achieved her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at OU in 2008 and also serves as a CNS at Oklahoma Cancer Specialists and Research Institute.
