Kimberly A. Allen, DNP, APRN-CNP, FNP-BC is an Assistant Professor and Family Nurse Practitioner Track Coordinator at the University of Oklahoma Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing. Board certified by the ANCC, Dr. Allen has over two decades of clinical experience in family practice. She earned her DNP from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and her MS and BSN from OUHSC. Her scholarly interests include healthcare access, interprofessional education, artificial intelligence in nursing, and quality improvement in primary care. Dr. Allen is a co-investigator on the HRSA-funded OK-WINs initiative and has received multiple honors, including the Unity Clinic Champion Award and the George E. Thibault Nexus Award. She remains active in clinical practice and public service, including work with Tulakes Free Clinic and medical missions abroad.

Clinical/Research Interests:
Dr. Allen’s scholarly interests center on improving healthcare access, enhancing interprofessional education, and integrating innovative strategies such as artificial intelligence and simulation into advanced practice nursing education. She mentors DNP students on quality improvement projects on various areas of focus including telehealth, social determinants of health, and chronic disease management in underserved populations. Her clinical expertise spans across the lifespan.
