Scholarships

The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing is proud to offer a wide range of scholarships to our students each year, due to the generosity of our donors. Scholarships are awarded annually in the fall semester with the intent to renew in the Spring term if the student maintains the minimum GPA required for their scholarship.  Funds are applied directly to students' OUHSC bursar accounts, with half the award disbursing at the beginning of each fall and spring term. Any overpayment will be refunded to the student.

Scholarship Process

All newly admitted and continuing students are automatically considered for scholarships.  No separate application is needed. The scholarship review process considers each student’s prior academic performance and financial need as demonstrated by the FAFSA.  Additional scholarship criteria may be considered based on donor preferences, including, but not limited to: hometown, site of study, degree program, tribal affiliation, prior work experience, full or part-time student status, post-graduation career plan, prior schools attended, or student organization involvement.

To be considered for a scholarship through the College of Nursing, you must:

  • Be enrolled in one of the College of Nursing programs
  • All continuing and incoming students are automatically reviewed for scholarships in late July after completion of the enrollment process. Only students that have enrolled in classes by July 15 of each year will be reviewed.
