Dr. Dionaldo is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing at the University of Oklahoma. With more than 20 years of experience in nursing education across the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, and the United States, she is deeply committed to cross-cultural teaching, academic excellence, and community engagement.
Her teaching philosophy is grounded in Malcolm Knowles’ principles of adult learning, emphasizing self-direction, the importance of learners’ prior experiences, and the practical application of knowledge. Dr. Dionaldo fosters inclusive, learner-centered environments that honor cultural diversity and promote global perspectives in nursing education.
She previously served as an Assistant Professor at King Saud University’s College of Nursing and as a clinical instructor in the BSN program at Southwestern University in the Philippines. Her academic interests include culturally responsive pedagogy, innovative teaching strategies, and curriculum development designed to support the success of diverse adult learners in today’s complex healthcare landscape.
Education:
Dr. Dionaldo earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Arts in Nursing, and Doctorate in Education from Southwestern University in the Philippines. Her master’s thesis examined the complex relationship between depression, pain, and sleep disturbances in women with breast cancer, while her doctoral dissertation explored faculty motivation through the lens of Herzberg’s Motivational Theory.
