I have a particular interest in simulation-based education research and its role in both undergraduate and graduate nursing education. I am currently enrolled as a PhD student at The University of Arizona and plan to study the impact that virtual simulations have on Family Nurse Practitioner students’ self-efficacy and competence in properly assessing and diagnosing primary care patients. As a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator, I have a strong knowledge base regarding simulation theory, best practices in healthcare simulation, and the implementation of healthcare simulations via a variety of delivery systems. My master’s degree in nursing education has provided me with a strong understanding of teaching strategies, curriculum development, as well as educational theories used in nursing education.
