Emma Kientz is an Assistant Professor in the OU Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing and the Interim Assistant Dean for College of Nursing Programs in Tulsa. Prior to her faculty role at the University of Oklahoma in 2002, Dr. Kientz held a variety of nursing positions including staff and supervisory positions, a clinical research nurse position at the National Institutes of Health, and as an officer in the U.S. Air Force Nurse Corps.  With over 40 years nursing experience, she maintains national certifications as a Clinical Nurse Specialist and Certified Nurse Educator. Dr. Kientz has been integral in collaborative learning opportunities for nursing students on the Tulsa campus, specifically the Bedlam Clinics.  In addition, she demonstrates leadership in numerous professional organizations, has peer-reviewed publications, and has presented the outcomes of her work at state, national, and international conferences. She currently leads the College of Nursing's study abroad program to Arezzo, Italy.  Her academic interests include interprofessional education, personal leadership development, academic practice partnerships, and healthy work environments.
