Dr. Joyce Tow has been a licensed registered nurse since 1993 with experiences that include inpatient obstetric, labor/delivery/postpartum/nursery, medical-surgical, disaster/trauma response, military deployments, women's health clinic, mental health inpatient and clinic, and academic teaching for BSN, MSN, and Doctorate students.  Dr. Tow spent over 20 years as a military nurse, starting in the U.S. Army and continuing in the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard.  She is a dual-certified nurse practitioner in women's health and psychiatric mental health.  Her research expertise includes a deep dive into studying the lived experience of trauma and the warrior nurse.  Her current nursing practice includes a faculty position at the University of Oklahoma Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing with clinical practice with the OU Health Psychiatry Department.
