University of Oklahoma Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing faculty Diana Sturdevant, Ph.D., GCNS-BC, NEA-BC, APRN, CWS, has been inducted into the Hall of Honor in the McKnight’s Women of Distinction awards, a joint program of McKnight’s Long-Term Care News, McKnight’s Senior Living and McKnight’s Home Care.
The program, in its seventh year, recognizes women who have made significant contributions to the senior living, skilled nursing or home care fields. Veteran VIPs are women who have more than 15 years of experience in the industry and generally are at a level of lower than vice president or the equivalent. Other honorees working directly for long-term care providers also will be recognized in the following categories: Hall of Honor, Rising Star and Spirit Award. Additionally, the Commercial Excellence Award will recognize women working at vendor companies that provide products or services to senior living, skilled nursing or home care providers.
“Dr. Sturdevant is an alumnus of the College, graduating with her master’s in nursing in 2007 and her Ph.D. in nursing in 2015. After graduation, she joined the college and has maintained clinical, teaching, research and service to the community throughout her career. Dr. Sturdevant is involved as a current collaborator as a co-investigator on a multi-million-dollar grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration for Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program. Dr. Sturdevant is a valued member of the CON faculty, and we are proud of her many accomplishments,” said Melissa Craft, interim dean of the college.
Nominations were judged by an external panel of industry experts. All winners will be honored at our in-person celebration on May 13 in Chicago. To see the full list of inductees, and for more information about the program and to register for the events, visit www.mcknightswomenofdistinction.com.
