The Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center recently participated in the annual Partners in Quality Conference. Participants from across the Health Sciences Center campus submitted evidence-based and research presentation posters. A panel of judges from the consortium reviewed all entries.  Judges independently reviewed posters and scores were aggregated based on appearance and content to determine award winners. While the majority of the participants were from Oklahoma, the virtual platform allowed participants to attend from Florida, Georgia, Virginia, Nebraska, Michigan, Iowa and Washington D.C. We also had the largest number of participants to date (266).

For the OU College of Nursing BSN student entries, the following awards were given:

1^st Place: Improving patient outcomes: Intentional communication with ICU patients EBP Project

Nina Chism, Ashleigh Collins, Daniela Dial, Allison Hohenstein, and Clara Lor with mentor Susan Dresser, PhD, APRN-CNS, CCRN, FCNS.

2^nd Place: Reducing Pain in the NICU: Music Therapy for Neonates

Emma Bickford, Ian Fraser, Olivia Guyer, Megan Jantizi and Rylee Stevens with mentor Susan Eckman, MS, RN, HNB-BC. 

3^rd Place: Massage Therapy: Effectiveness in Neonate Growth Development

Alyssa Alvarado, Giselle Doti, Jadya Hardaway, Riley Hopper, and Katie Ripple with mentor Mark Fisher, PhD, RN

For the peer-reviewed submissions, the Sigma Beta Delta at-Large Chapter Nurse-led Project Award recipient was OU CON PhD nursing student Kay Bennett along with her peers Jesse Strong, Araya D. Assfaw and Marianna Wetherill placed 3^rd.

Partners in Quality consortium is comprised of the Oklahoma City Veterans Affairs Health Care Systems, Beta Delta Chapter-at-Large Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing, OU Health, and the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing.
