Retired U.S. Army Major with over 20 years of service. She is currently an Assistant Professor for the Doctor of Nursing Practice program, Family Nurse Practitioner program, and Undergraduate Nursing programs at The Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing at The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City. She is an MS Family Nurse Practitioner alumna of the University of Oklahoma in 2008 and went on to earn her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Texas Christian University. Her area of research was focused on bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation and piloted a new CPR program in Oklahoma rural schools certifying all teachers and Senior students which was adopted by the local health department. She is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and has practiced in a variety of settings including pediatrics, internal medicine, family practice, spine surgery, and mental health. She has maintained a clinical practice in primary care and is going on to receive her Post Masters as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, American Psychiatric Nurses Association, and the Association of Oklahoma Nurse Practitioners.
