Dr. David Ha, DNP, APRN‑CNP, FNP‑C, is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, where he contributes to undergraduate and graduate nursing education through teaching, mentorship, and academic service. With more than sixteen years of experience as a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, his clinical practice includes both outpatient and inpatient settings, as well as volunteering, which informs his instruction with comprehensive clinical insight. Dr. Ha is actively involved in speaking engagements and university leadership, including service on multiple committees and participation in advisory committees that support nursing advancement. He also maintains active membership in several national organizations, including the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties, the Preventive Cardiovascular Nurses Association where he serves as Oklahoma Chapter Leader, Sigma Theta Tau International, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and Oklahoma Nurse Practitioners. | Dr. Ha’s clinical research interests include the advancement of nursing assessment and clinical decision‑making across acute and primary care settings, with particular attention to patient safety, quality of care, and outcomes in both outpatient and inpatient environments. His work also encompasses professional identity formation in nursing, the evaluation of assessment practices in acute care, population‑based analyses using statewide health data and risk for falls. In addition, he maintains a focused interest in cardiovascular health, including the factors that contribute to cardiometabolic risk and the role of nursing practice in improving prevention and management. |

Dr. Ha has received the Excellence in Academic Teaching Award and the Canvas Resource Champion Award from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. He earned the Bronze Medal for a 4.0 GPA in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program and has been recognized with academic distinctions, including the Dean’s Honor Roll and the University Achievement Class Scholarship. He has also received certification as an Elsevier Certified Expert, a Quality Matters Rubrics and Standards Certificate, and an Interprofessional Educational Foundation Certificate.
