Lori McElroy, DNP, RN, CNE is an Assistant Professor in the Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences. Dr. McElroy’s nursing career has focused primarily on pediatric critical care, homecare, hospice, and nursing administration. She has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She has over two decades of higher education experience where she conducts active learning activities, lectures, and serves as the degree completion track coordinator. She teaches at all program levels and serves on the faculty governance board and admission, progression, and graduation council.
Education:
Dr. Lori McElroy (aka Dr. Mac) is an Oklahoma native. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master's in Nursing Education from the University of Oklahoma, College of Nursing, and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Educational Leadership from American Sentinel University.

Clinical/Research Interests:
Dr. McElroy’s research interests include fostering pre-licensure nursing students’ success through support with trauma-informed approaches, safe learning environments, positive student progression, and transition to practice.
