Dr. Melanie Arnold is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. She is a registered nurse and board-certified clinical research nurse with extensive experience in acute care settings. Her clinical and research background integrates evidence-based practice, behavioral science, and systems-level process improvement.

Dr. Arnold’s scholarship examines cognitive heuristics, risk recognition, and behavioral influences on nursing practice. Her future research agenda investigates how cognitive load, salience, and decision environments shape clinical behavior, with emerging work focused on human trafficking identification in healthcare settings.

Her work has been presented at regional, national, and international conferences. Dr. Arnold is committed to advancing theory-informed, practical interventions that enhance patient safety and professional nursing practice.
