Melissa Craft PhD ARPN-CNS AOCN FAAN is an Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist who is an Associate Professor at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing. Dr. Craft has over 40 years of experience in cancer nursing. She is the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs, Outreach and Practice Innovation. In addition to teaching and administration, Dr. Craft has a busy research program which focuses on how to help people who are dealing with critical life events such as cancer and cognitive challenges after chemotherapy. Melissa has served as founding member and President of the Oklahoma Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists and was the Founding Chairperson for the Clinical Nurse Specialist Institute (501c3 arm of the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists). Dr. Craft serves as Co-Chair of the Protocol Review and Monitoring Committee for the Stephenson Cancer Center and is very active in interprofessional education and practice and professional and community service. She has served as Chair of the OUHSC Interprofessional Educators and Practitioners Association (IEPA) and as Co-Chair of the Research Committee for IEPA for the past two years.
