The Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing, University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, is seeking a dynamic and forward thinking Associate Dean for Research.  Our programs preparenurse scholars who will impact the future of health care by leading interdisciplinary and translational research initiatives that integrate concepts and strategies derived from symptom management, implementation science, community-based participatory research, family centered care, and social entrepreneurship.

As a recognized expert in nursing science, the Associate Dean for Research oversees every aspect of the research enterprise including assuming responsibility for ensuring research funding growth and research ranking of the College at a national level, fostering an environment that promotes growth in research development and excellence, and promote interdisciplinary/interagency collaborations to achieve OUCN and OUHSC research objectives. The Associate Dean for Research will also enhance the visibility of the College’s research enterprise to OUHSC, University and public, provide stewardship of College research resources, funding and intramural seed grants, and maintain an active personal program of research.

Applicants must have a doctorate in Nursing or related field and a baccalaureate degree in Nursing is preferred.  All applicants must have past or current NIH funding, academic administrative experience at a middle management level.  They must have effective interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability in leadership.

The Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing has multiple relationships with community partners including but not limited to, OU Medical Systems, Stephenson Cancer Center, Donald W. Reynolds Center for Geriatric Nursing Excellence, Jonas Foundation, Leadership Education for Health Professionals Caring for Children and Youth with Disabilities (LEND), Center on Child Abuse and Neglect (CCAN), and oversees a Case Management program for a large network of Oklahomans receiving care through the State of Oklahoma ADvantage program.

The College of Nursing is one of seven health-related colleges located at The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City. The campus is the state’s major educational resource for health professionals in medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, public health and allied health. The Graduate College is the center of advanced study, research, and creative activity in the health sciences. There are excellent opportunities for clinical practice and research with university and clinical partners.
