The Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program is tailored for individuals who want to pursue a career in nursing and already have a bachelor’s degree from a US regionally accredited institution. The nursing curriculum is 60 credit hours of courses incorporating theoretical and clinical content and designed to be completed in 12 months of concentrated study. Graduates receive a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree and are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (the NCLEX-RN ®). Registered nurse license eligibility and requirements vary by state board of nursing. Visit the Oklahoma Board of Nursing here.
The Accelerated BSN pathway admits students once a year in the Summer and offers only full-time enrollment. The program is designed to be completed in 12 months, beginning in Summer and concluding the following May.
Students who have earned a bachelor’s degree from a U.S. regionally accredited college or university will have all General Education requirements automatically fulfilled.
This policy applies to both domestic and international degrees. For international applicants, an official credential evaluation (such as WES or ECE) is required. If the evaluation confirms that a bachelor’s degree has been awarded, all General Education requirements will be considered satisfied.
